Cleveland Crunch Stays Undefeated with 15-1 Road Victory Over Lansing Red Cedar FC

The Cleveland Crunch continued their dominant start to the 2024-25 Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) season, securing a 15-1 victory on the road against Lansing Red Cedar FC. With this win, Cleveland improves to 3-0 on the season.

Gabriel Pewu wasted no time getting the Crunch on the scoreboard, netting the opening goal early in the game. Admir Suljevic and Diego Pinto followed with first-quarter goals, giving Cleveland a commanding 3-0 lead at the end of the opening frame.

The Crunch extended their lead in the second quarter with goals from Pedro Tzul, Mikey Derezic, and Ma’Cain Spragling, pushing the advantage to 6-0. Lansing’s Andres Gomez managed to find the back of the net to make it 6-1, but Cleveland responded quickly. Another goal from Derezic and a strike by Omar Najjar put the Crunch ahead 8-1 at halftime.

The second half saw Cleveland’s offense firing on all cylinders. The Crunch added seven more goals, including two each from Pinto and Najjar, with additional tallies from Spragling, Pewu, and Derezic. Rookie Diego Pinto recorded his first hat trick in just his second game for Cleveland, while Najjar impressed on both ends of the field, earning him the MetroHealth Man of the Match honors. Goalkeepers Scot Santa and Liam McIntosh split time in net for the Crunch and combined for 19 saves.
