It is our mission to encourage, empower and inspire players and coaches to reach their highest potential, build a lifelong connection between the Cleveland Crunch and the community as a whole, and promote the development and growth of professional soccer in the United States.
As active members of the Greater Cleveland soccer community, we understand the significant fan presence that exists throughout Northeast Ohio. Bringing back professional indoor soccer to the city of Cleveland under the name Cleveland Crunch will help restore the memories and nostalgia created by the previous success of the franchise. With an established fan base and a plethora of quality local soccer talent, reliving the days of packed stadiums, exuberant cheers, and raising championship trophies seems all too real.
The Cleveland Crunch previously operated as a professional indoor soccer franchise in both the MISL and NPSL from 1988 to 2002. During that time, they became 3x NPSL Champions. The club played its initial home games in Richfield Coliseum before relocating all home games permanently to CSU Convocation Center in 1993.
It’s April 26, 1994, and the Cleveland Convocation Center is filled with exhilarating roars from fans as they celebrate the Cleveland Crunch’s double overtime victory over the St. Louis Ambush to capture their first title in franchise history. In a passionate sports town like Cleveland, the success of the Crunch filled a void that resonated with fans for many years prior; winning. Despite nearly a decade of triumph, the Cleveland Crunch played their last game in 2001. In an effort to resurrect the legacy of this historical franchise, we strive to bring professional indoor soccer back to the city of Cleveland.
